ATO Corporation, Japan, was established in 1940 to manufacture and sell packaging machinery.  The US subsidiary was established in 1977 and eventually became SATO America, Inc. in 1987. During that period, SATO developed the world's first thermal transfer barcode printers and became the leader in applying the technology to the market. Since SATO's 1979 introduction of the world's first thermal transfer barcode printer, Model 2311, SATO has continued to be in the forefront of thermal printing technologies. The SATO RFID printer reads, writes and prints your "Smart" labels. As well as printing a visual image, text or barcode on the label surface, the RFID printer reads and writes on the thin transponder, embedded in the label.

DuraMark™ Wristbands

 

SATO’s DuraMark™ Wristbands are virtually indestructible and display various details of patient information, encoded securely in a barcode. They remain legible even after extended exposure to water, abrasion, cleaners and everyday wear.
Each wristband provides enhanced safety through positive identification of individual patients, linked to a patients medical or account number using both human readable text, barcodes and if desired, a patient's picture. All without the need of thermal transfer ribbons which raise costs, are cumbersome, and under HIPAA guidelines require expensive destruction procedures.

M10e (10.5 in wide)

SATO’s new M10e was designed with manufacturing applications in mind. This barcode printer creates labels up to a full 11.8 inches wide at a speed of up to 5 inches per second. The 10.5-inch printhead makes it possible to print large format compliance labels at top speed without rotating the image. The M10e printer can hold media sizes up to approximately 11.8” wide x 16.6” long. For maximum throughput, a 32-bit high speed RISC processor is in the heart of every M10e printer.

Thermal Transfer

A general-purpose adhesive is coated on a high quality paper face stock and the adhesive backed labels are provided on a silicone coated paper carrier. This allows the labels to be used equally as well in manual dispensing or on printers with automatic label dispensers. Bright white, ultra-smooth, coated face stock for slow to high-speed thermal transfer printing with high resistance to abrasion and smear. Preprinting, flood coating, custom face stocks, adhesives and label sizes are also available.

Direct Thermal

The standard thermal sensitive face stock was selected to provide the most economical labeling system. A general purpose adhesive is coated on the reverse side of the thermal sensitive paper face stock. The adhesive backed labels are provided on a silicone coated paper carrier, allowing them to be used equally as well in manual dispensing or on printers with automatic label dispensers. They are especially well suited for applications such as shipping labels, labeling of food products and healthcare labeling. Bright white, top coated face stock for standard speed thermal printing. Preprinting, flood coating, custom face stocks, adhesives and label sizes are also available.

Synthetic Film Labels

Techno THERM’s SF Series offers four very durable synthetic materials that can manage the most difficult applications, even in the harshest environments.

SF100 – Polypropylene Film

A corona-treated white biaxially oriented polypropylene film. The glossy facestock was originally created for semi-rigid and rigid surfaces and can be used for a variety of other applications.

SF300 – White Polyester Film

RFID Thermal Labels

SATO RFID labels are available with antennas made by Phillips, Texas Instruments, Alien Technologies and Rafsec. These stock labels come in both the 13.56 MHz (Philips I·Code/Tag-it/ISO-15693) and the 915MHz (UHF EPC Class 1/Alien/Rafsec) ferquencies. The frequency you will need depends on the type of SATO CLe RFID printer/encoder you have. All our RFID labels are specifically designed and manufactured to compliment the features of the SATO CLe RFID printer/encoders. When considering custom RFID labels – there may be a few face material limitations. SATO RFID labels can be made with any type of RFID inlay. Some examples of the other inlay types available include Ucode, UHF 868-928MHz ISO 18000, and Class 0 and 0+. RFID labels can be pre printed, flood coated or laminated and can be converted in most popular finishing styles. Although engineered to exacting specifications, the environment can affect the RFID labels performance. Placement, packaging materials as well as packaging contents will affect RFID performance. SATO America, Inc. makes no claim that these RFID labels can be used with any other printer/encoder. Preprinting, flood coating, custom face stocks, adhesives and label sizes are also available.

Ribbons
 

SATO Thermal Transfer Ribbons are specially designed for optimum performance and consistently deliver durable, easily scanned, barcodes. SATO ribbons provide excellent print contrast for visible light and infrared scanners, producing crisp text and sharp graphics. Nothing assures higher quality printing than SATO ribbons. They feature a special back coating to help achieve maximum life from printheads, and since they are specifically tested and approved for SATO printers, their use assures printer warranty protection. Three types of SATO ribbons are available to satisfy virtually every barcode label, tag and identification application.

T222A - Premier™ I (Resin)

A high resin composition, T222A - Premier™ I is specifically formulated for printing on synthetic media. T222A - Premier™ I ribbon is not formulated to work with standard Thermal Transfer Paper label stocks. For a more durable image on paper label stocks, we suggest the use of SATO T110A - Premier™ II ribbon. T222A - Premier™ I ribbon produces extremely durable labels when combined with top-coated synthetic media and is recommended for extreme conditions, such as asset labeling. It is resistant to most solvents, including alcohol, oils, fats, petroleum, haloid and aromatic.

T110A - Premier™ II (Wax/Resin)

A more general purpose ribbon, Premier™ II combines resin and wax to deliver excellent print quality on a wide range of paper and synthetic media. Because it contains some wax, it is only moderately resistant to solvents.

T101A - Standard (General Purpose Wax)

T101A - Standard ribbon is a general-purpose wax ribbon that provides users with an economic alternative that is especially effective on low-cost paper media that has a rougher surface. It is more susceptible to smudging from frequent handling than the resin ribbons, but produces a very economical label. Resistance to solvents is compromised by the wax based inks, but stands up fairly well when exposed to alcohols, oils and fats.

Ready-To-Go Packs

Storage and supplies inventory is greatly simplified with the shrink-wrapped Ready-To-Go packs. Instead of trying to match up the number of ribbons on hand with the number of label rolls they will print, only one item needs to be ordered and stocked.
